HYDERABAD, Pakistan: April 12, 2013. (By Abbas Kassar) Sindh National Party one of the main nationalist party of Sindh, advocating rights of people of Sindh, after boycotting the general elections and withdrawing its 20 candidates from race on basis of out of way questioning during scrutiny, has now announced that their party would observe black day on the polling day that is 11 May 2013. In a joint statement its chairman Ashraf Noonari, vice chairman Shabbir Inqilabi, Najeeb Ahmed Thebo, Akhtar Sindhi and others said that election commission was a little more than salt in flour indepedence. They said in Sindh returning officers have accepted nomination papers of 88% such persons who are involved in kidnapping for ransom, robberies, murders, corruption gambling dens, narcotics, vulgar dens, extortion and land mafia. They observed that articles 62 and 63 should have been applied with equality to all but only poor and middle class candidates were taken the task of. It appears, they said, that election commission desires to see those once again in parliament who is known for destruction of country. The statement said that the returning officers were asking questions as to how many wives the candidate has or such personal questions. The statement said that the evidences are that election commission and the caretaker government wanted to bring forth the religious extremists and fundamentalists to parliament denying right to other segments of soceity to chose their candidates. The way of election commisison suggests that election could never be held fair and free. SNP had boycotted the election 2013 on these grounds and would now observe the day of mourning on polling day that is May 11,2013.
