Karachi: April 4, 2013. (PCP) Indiscriminate firing by unknown arm militants on the car of Mr. Saleem Khursheed Khokhar former MPA Sindh on his way back from Badin to Karachi have been reported and of which FIR No.65/2013 dated April 4, 2013, have been registered in Police Station Thatta
The Security Guards and Constables were provided for the security of former MPA and President All Pakistan Minorities Alliance Sindh Chapter Saleem Khursheed Khokhar which has been withdrawn without any notice. Whereas the Islamic Extremits and Militants have been continuously extending death threats to him and his family of which and a FIR have also been lodged in Police Station Clifton, Karachi.
In this connection the Interior Ministry, Foreign Ministry including the Human Rights Organizations like Amnesty International have also expressed their concern and stressed that proper security would be provided to Mr. Saleem Khursheed Khokhar.
Mr. Saleem Khursheed Khokhar Former Member Sindh Assembly had been very vocal in the Sindh Assembly voicing the problems of religious minorities and presented their cases of forced conversions, forced marriages as well on misuse of Blasphemy Law of the religious minorities in Pakistan. He had also been struggling against the bonded and forced labour in the Sindh Assembly as well outside the assembly.
Due to this struggle in the Sindh Assembly the Islamic extremists / militants are facing in as he is hiding from place to place as his security has been withdrawn by the concerned authority.
Last night when Mr. Saleem Khursheed Khokhar was coming in his car from Badin to Karachi some unknown arm persons are tried to stop his car of Mr. Saleem Khursheed Khokhar did not stop the car on which the unknown arm persons open fire on his moving car but he escaped death as another car behind him which friends came to his rescue and the unknown arm persons ran away this incident was registered vide FIR No. 65/2013 under Section 337-H and 427 PPC at 12:10 am on 04-04-2013 in Police Station Thatta Sindh.
