PCC consulting other Christian paties for decission on Election 2013

Karachi: March 22, 2013. (PCP) The conference calls were conducted with other Christian political parties and Churches for joint decission on not to participate in forthcoming national general elections of 2013 here today according to press note issued by Central Secretariat of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC. Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress held long conference calls with Christian youth, political leaders and clergy in Lahore, Faisalabad, Islamabad and Peshawar on issue on Christians participation in elections which are being held under same system in which minorities and women seats in parliament are filled with Selection which is very widely and openly rejected by Christian voters. Nazir Bhatt said "President Asif Ali Zardari have stabbed at back of Christians on announcing date of elections without considering Christians outstanding demand of Election not Selection on reserved seats" PCC filed numerious memorandums with government of Pakistan and Election Commission of Pakistan ECP to stop uncnstitutional and undemocratic Selection system on reserved seats which is denial to Article 226 of Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan but no due action was taken. J salik had filed a petition in Supreme Court of Pakistan for Elections on reserved seats under Article 226, in 2010 but apex court kept it in pending. Every Christian political party demanded in press conferences in Lahore, Karachi, Faisalabad and Islamabad for Dual Voting Right that Christians may also Elect their representitives with their votes but due cnsideration was given on demands. "Now time has come that all Christian parties may unite and pull Christian voters out of Election 2013" said Nazir Bhatti PCC Chief said that decission on participation will be announced soon and how to deal with those Christian who will apply Muslim political parties for Selection.
