LARKANA: February 1, 2013. (Nazir Siyal) Chief Minister Sindh Sayed Qaim Ali Shah said that PPP government has earmarked Rs. 14 billion for health sector to improve skill development and quality of health provision, besides Rs. 2 to 12 billion increased in education sector in five years. Addressing to the 1st Shaheed Muhatarma Benzir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) Convocation in Larkana, Chief Minister, said the dream have been comes true today to distribute degrees amongst 968 MBBS graduates of various batches. Qaim Ali Shah highlighted that the present Sindh government increased health and education budget for the proper services of Sindh people, which was our priority development of Education and Health sector. Chief Minister told about success and uplift of health sector within 5 years, that’s why, established five district hospitals and 11 Taluka hospitals in different parts of province he said. Qaim Ali Shah said that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto devoted their lives for the downtrodden people and PPP government every time provided jobs to hundreds of doctors, added that those who are daily wages and contract employees are also permanent in the PPP government he said. Chief Minister said the Convocation is the first step of SMBBMU graduates, which is a remarkable effort of medical professionals in the Asia, when these graduates will prove after post-graduation and M.phil research on different health issues. The University requires more funds about Rs. 4 to 5 million to fulfill the needs of all corners, because it is a challenging jobs to take a gigantic aim to the objectives he said. On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Liaqat Medical University (LUMS) Hyderabad Professor Mashhood Alam Shah, Vice Chancellor SMBBMU Dr. Akber Hyder Soomro, Secretary Professor Shahid Jamal Siddiqui, Registrar SMBBMU Prof. Dr. Amanullah Jokhio, Principal Chandka Medical College (CMC) Prof. Assadullah Mahar, Prof. Saifullah Jamro and others were present. Meanwhile, Acting Governor and Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Friday said the PPP has successfully completed an enormous task and mission and vision of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. Speaking to the 1st Convocation 2013 and taking oath from all newly graduates of SMBBMU here at the site of Mohen-Jo-Daro road Larkana, Acting Governor and Speaker SA advised fresh graduates to take their responsibility to serve the humanity in the health environment; it is a challenging opportunity for you to prove in the national services at grass roots level, where the degree endorsed with its mission and clear vision of opportunity by SMBBMU. He said the graduates should serve the cause without any discrimination, because the people are waiting your skilled approach in health sector through a technological advancement and experience, so that follow the footprints of pioneers as they served he said. He said the medical graduates of SMBBMU are the asset so that you should prove your identity of SMBBMU in the world with a new research of post-graduation and M Phil he said. While, the Local government provincial Minister Agha Siraj Durani said that the gift of SMBBMU by the President Asif Ali Zardari and MNA Faryal Talpur has given a window of opportunity to the people of our area to serve the masses they are facing common health problems, so that lot of expertise of health sector will prove in health issues he said. Law Minister and Housing Mohammaed Ayaz Soomro have said that SMBBMU a remarkable step of the achievement of PPP government and Doctors will get job in present government to serve the community. He said we have every time distributed jobs among the people and we assure them for resolution of their issues in next their government he said.
