LARKANA: December 14, 2012. (Nazir Siyal) Anti-Polio walk was held here in Larkana on Friday, the walk was led by Deputy Commissioner Larkana Assadullah Abro and EDO Health Dr Abdul Fatah Bughio and large number of civil society, volunteers and students participated. The walk started from Old DHO office after marching through various roads dispersed at Larkana Press Club. On the occasion Students of different schools, Scouts and representatives of civil society were carrying banners and posters inscribed with messages for parents to administer three drops of anti-polio vaccine to their children up to the age of 5 years, as part of a nation campaign. Meanwhile, The Commissioner Larkana Dr Saeed Ahmed Magnejo presided over the high level meeting with officials of Larkana District to finalize the arrangements for the 5th death anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto on 27th December 2012.here at Circuit House Larkana on Friday. Larkana Dr Saeed Ahmed Magnejo directed the local authorities of NSUSC and TMA to ensure the cleanliness and proper lighting system in the cities and towns, the meeting attended by Deputy Commissioner Larkana, SSP Larkana, officials of North Sindh Urban Services Corporation (NSUSC), TMA, NHA and other heads of deferent departments on the occasion. The Commissioner Dr Saeed Magnejo directed to NHA officials to complete the work of deferent roads leading to Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto before the 27th December and install the sign boards. DC Larkana Assadullah Abro briefed to meeting about the arrangements and told that Reception and Medical Camps have been established at all routes heading to Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto and Naudero, no load shedding will be carried out, SSP Larkana Javed Jiskani apprised the meeting that security plane has been prepared and finalized the all arrangements and provision fool security arrangements during the 27th December, 10,000 Police cops including women Police and Commandos will be deployed at various locations, roads leading to Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto, entry and exit points amid at tight security . SSP informed that 220 additional Police Check Posts have been set up at Naudero road to Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto, beside Police have sought the services of Rangers and have started the joint patrolling to control the law and order situation. Javed Jiskani said that walk through gates, close circuit cameras, watch towers, and modern equipments will be installed to ensure the tight security, and all activities will be monitored by control room adding the effective measures have been taken to provide the good traffic services in this regard 700 Traffic Police Officials will perform their duties On the occasion Commissioner Larkana expressed full satisfaction over the arrangements and steps being taken by District administration for the 5th death anniversary of SBB.
