Faisalabad: December 2, 2012. (Babar Suroya) It is so sad news that there has been desecration of the grotto in the St. Pius Catholic Church Chak Jhumra, Punjab, Pakistan on November 30, 2012 at about 10 pm by the unknown miscreants and extremists with the stones. Father Abid Tanveer, the Parish In charge was informed by Paulus Boota, the Catechist on mobile phone when he, Father Abid tanveer was on his way back to Chak Jhumra from Lahore. The police was informed immediately about the incident that arrived and is in search of the culprits. The Pakistani church is in rage due to this sad incident. First Information Report (FIR) no. 868 has been registered under section 295 of Pakistan Penal Code on December 1, 2012 at Police Station City Chak Jhumra . The Church authorities, politicians and the civil society have appealed the Christians to be patient as the local administration has assured to arrest the culprits in 48 hours. On December 2, 2012 Father Abid Tanveer, Mr. Joel Aamir MPA and Professor Anjum James Paul, Director SHADOW Organization condemned this sad incident and appealed the people to remain in peace so that there may not be any conflict. They demanded the government for the protection of the Christians and their religious places. There has been desecration in the past at several places and it cannot be tolerated now. There was Press Conference after the church in the Parish House. Father Abid Tanveer, Mr. Joel Aamir MPA and Professor Anjum James Paul again appealed the Christians to be patient and peaceful and on the other hand demanded the administration to arrest the culprits as soon as possible.
