LARKANA: A large number of civil society representatives and health professionals participated in the awareness walk about International HIV/AIDS by the Mehran Welfare Trust (MWT) and other NGOs and CBOs in Larkana on Saturday.
Participants carrying the banners, play cards chanted with slogans of HIV/Aids awareness, which was started here from Chandka Medical Hospital to Press Club. Several other NGOs and CBOs also participated in the walk about HIV/Aids, among Ghazi Social Welfare Association, Bright Educational Society, CBOs, Scout Groups, students and business community also participated on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, they told that there are 34.2 million suffering from HIV/Aids among 30.7 million youth community, 16.7 million female and 3.4 million are children up to 15 year.
Panjal Sangi told that 1.7 million are died every year due to the HIV/Aids, while there are 9574 cases are registered of HIV/Aids in Pakistan among total 0.2 million are suffering from this deadly disease he said.
He further told that 8682 cases are registered in Sindh among 5252 are young people, 60 children and 163 women suffering from HIV/Aids, while 182 have been died due to this deadly disease.
On the occasion, CMC Medical Superintendent Dr. Afsar Bhutto also spoke high about the health issues and told that the treatment is free in CMC hospital Larkana and the Center established by Sindh Aids Control Program, where the treatment and medicines given to the affected HIV/Aids people he said. He also demanded of the CD-4 machine for the people of Larkana to fascilitate them accordingly.
On the occasion, President Chambers of Commerce and Industry President Mohammed Suleman Shaikh, PPP Vice President Khair Mohammed Shaikh, MWT Chairman Mohammed Panjal Khan Sangi and several others participated in the awareness walk.
Meanwhile, Inter School Tournament (IST) was held by UNICEF funded Right To Play (RTP) organization here in the rain and flood hit district of Kamber-Shahdadkot.
Government Girls Middle Secondary School children in Arzi Bhutto Sijawal taluka conducted an activitiy and event organized by the RTP to promote sports healthy activities in the grils children and other curriculum activities.
On the occasion, District Officer of Social Welfare Department M. Shareef Pathan and social and political leader Naheed Bhutto was among the chief guest of the event.
During the activity 753 Children participated in different sports activities among the cricket and others, several other Schools of Sijawal taluka participated and the guests highlight the importance of fair Play and participation in healthier activities, to ensure the basic rights of the children.
On the occasion, children among their teachers and parents also attended the activities, aimed to develop the skill and perfection in the children by the sports activities.
Right To Play (RTP) highlighted the role of organization in the developing life skills of the children and making the schools friendly for innocent children to participate in games by learning and participation through tournaments of children. The event was appreciated the efforts of Right To Play on the occasion.
