LARKANA: October 1, 2012. (Nazir Siyal) On the call of nationalist parties’ alliance Sindh Bachayo Committee (SBC) a complete wheel-jam and shutter down strike across the Sindh was observed against the approval of Sindh People’s Local Government Bill 2012 by the provincial assembly here on Monday.
Nationalists’ political parties’ and Jeay Sindh fractions hold rallies, sit-ins and observed token hunger strikes against SPLGO and murder of Bashir Khan Qureshi, which they also demanded to registeration of the case of Bashir Khan on the occasion.
All the business markets, shopping centers, main Bazars including the Shahi Bazar, Resham Gali, Sarafa Bazar, station road, Lahori Muhalla, Pakistani Chok, Royal Chok, Fish Market, Anaj Bazar, Fruit Mandi, Filling stations and others were completely remain closed.
The workers also staged sit-in before the residence of Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Khuhro, while bangles and Tawa (fry-pan) were hanged at the residence of Law Minister Sindh Ayaz Soomro in Lakana and other parts of districts.
Owing to the wheel-jam and shutter down strike in province, Indus Highway and Super Highway vehicular traffic remained suspended and sparse vehicle on the roads, while, the markets, shops and most of the government and private educational institutes and offices remain closed across the districts due to non-availability of traffic.
Sindh Bachao Committee among all Sindhi nationalist parties Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM), Sindh United Party (SUP), Jeay Sindh Tahreek (JST), Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party (STP), Sindh National Movement (SNM), Awami Tahreek (AT) and Jeay Sindh Mahaz (JSM), other political parties including Pakistan Muslim League (N), Pakistan Muslim League (F), Jamait Islami, National People’s Party (NPP), Pakistan People’s Party-Shaheed Bhutto (PPP-SB), Jamiat Ulama-e-Isalm (JUI) Sindh and others are the part of the committee, they satrted their struggle against new local body system, which describe as division of the province, they also termed it a conspiracy to divide Sindh.
