SHIKARPUR: September 5, 2012. (Nazir Siyal) The civil society members and Sahkar NGO working against the religious extremism and for the rights of minorities’ women and children staged protest demonstration here on Wednesday.
On the occasion, large number of activists of civil society and member of social and poltical groups carrying banners marched on the roads at various thorough fares of the city and shouted slogans to protect the citizens and civil society members.
Civil society condemned the attack of criminals on the volunteers and social workers working against the social evils and religious extremism.
The civil society protesting against the growing robberies, threats and firing over the NGO activists in Larkana, they demanded authorities to control the law and order situation and arrest of culprits immediately.
They also demanded of the immediate arrest of culprits’ firing over activists of Sahkar NGO, protection of minority community and occupation on valuable properties in the different cities by a land mafia.
They have appealed the higher authorities that the police helping criminals but never supporting law abiding citizens to arrest the criminals they said.
Civil Society members and NGO workers among Shazia Jabbar, Rahim Bux, Abdul Wadood, Riaz Ahmed, Rehmatullah Bughio, Advocate Abdul Nabi, Akhtar Kalhoro, Saqib Ali, Kamran Abbasi, Fazal Karim, Abbas Ali Shah and others participated in the protest.
They have appealed the higher authorities that the police helping criminals but never supporting law abiding citizens and refused to register complain against the criminals they said.
