Dr. Emanuel Adil Ghouri, a Baptist Medical and Dental fellowship said that Pakistani government an absolute failure in responding persecution of Christians while government NGO and religious leaders are encouraging misuse of blasphemy laws.
Numerous recent incidences clearly display that our government is unquestionably failing to protect Christians. News comes from various parts of the country and indicates the continued persecution of Pakistani Christians. These latest atrocities include:
• A Christian farmer was murdered and five of his relatives badly injured by the Muslim land mafia in Qasure - an agricultural area near the province capital.
• A 12-year-old Christian girl was gang-raped and murdered in Sahiwal District.
• A 12- year-old Christian boy was tortured and then killed in Faisalabad District.
• Eleven Christian’s nurses were poisoned in Karachi Civil Hospital.
• Two religious cases have also been registered against Rimha and Zufer Bhatti in the capital city of Islamabad.
Dr. Ghouri said “I am requesting the Pakistani Government, NGOs, and respectable Muslim leaders speak out against the misuse of our religious laws. Apart from that, Christians will be forced to migrate from their communities, just as the Hindu families of Sindh Province left for to India because of violence and lack of security”
