Islamabad: August 27, 2012; (By Shamim Masih) On August 16th, Police Station, Rmana, G-11, Islamabad Pakistan, arrested 11 years old girl, Rimsha in Blasphemy case under PPC 295-B act. She was sent the “Central Jail, Adayala, Rawalpindi” on the same day.
Without doing any investigation Pakistani Police registered FIR (First Investigation Report) against the minor girl and sent her to Jail.
As per the law, she was sent to Jail on 14 days judicial, so tomorrow on 28th August, police will bring her before the Judge in the court for her first hearing.
Doctor Rimsha from Polyclinic has been appointed by the Court to examine her age on her appearance. She said that the girl seems of 16. It is to remind that she is not specialized in this field, when Shamim Masih, human rights activist asked doctor about her specialization she was confused and said, I am a student of specialization.
Her legal lawyer, “Tahir Naveed Chaudary” has filed the petition to release her on the bases of her age factor and on her mental disability (Down's syndrome). As she was unable to respond to police questioning; others that she is of normal intelligence and so culpable.
