Karachi: August 24, 2012. (PCP) “Sindhi Christians condemn arrest of Christian girl age 11 years named Rimsha Bibi on accusation of blasphemy in capital city of Pakistan, Islamabad” said Saleem Khursheed Khokhar, Member Sindh Assembly, Chairman Standing Committee on Minorities Affair Sindh and Chief of All Pakistan Minorities Alliance APMA Sindh Chapter, addressing a press conference here today at Karachi Press Club. Christian leaders, Mrs. Ghazala Shafiq, Safina Jawed, Shafiq Bhatti, Griffon Naz, Pastor Shafiq, Pastor Shahid Saghar, Riasat Shaid and Samuel Xavier also joined MPA Saleem Khokhar to condemn Rimsha Bibi,s arrest in Press Conference. “As you are aware that blasphemy law in accordance with Section 295-B & 295-C of Pakistan Penal Code has been repeatedly used against the Christian Minority in Pakistan as well as other minorities in order to settle personal scores and enmities and the religious minorities have been accused of this law frequently. It is sad to state that without verification or trial in the court of law such accused of blasphemy are put to death before reaching the Court of Law. It is a well-known fact that till to date the Christians Towns / Basties / Areas and Villages have been attacked by the religious extremists of the majority community and their houses and churches have been burnt to the extent even the inmates in the houses and worshipers in the Churches have been burnt alive by the Islamic extremists which is highly condemnable” said Saleem Khokhar In the recent past on 18-08-2012 in the capital city Islamabad, a Christian Girl namely Rimsha Masih aged 11 years and her family have been falsely accused of blasphemy and it has been alleged that she has desecrated a religious book of Muslims whereas it is reported that this minor Christian Girl is not mentally deranged and this false accusation of blasphemy has created an uproar amongst the Muslim protestors who even surrounded the Police Station and demanded that Rimsha should face charges under Blasphemy Law of Pakistan. “We condemn her arrest and we are also thankful to the President of Pakistan His Excellency Asif Ali Zardari who has immediately taken notice of sad incidence” said Christian leaders Saleem Khokhar appealed to the Muslims clerics that they should legislate such laws by which the weak and meek religious minority communities are not blackmailed under false accusation and put behind the bars and jailed without proper enquiry and trial. It is said to note that in Pakistan the Literacy Rate in Pakistan is very low due to which such sad incidence take place without any check and balance stated Christian leaders “It is necessary that in order to stop such acts that the curriculum and syllabus in the primary and secondary sections of the school the formulated so as to encourage harmony and peace amongst the different sections of the Society in Pakistan, so that level of tolerance is also controlled to such syllabus ad curriculum” urged Christian MPA The All Pakistan Minorities Alliance Sindh Chapter also condemn the arrest of Rimsha Masih on the false accusation of blasphemy law as well the demand that she and Asia Bibi who is already in the jail be set free unconditionally and their families are given full protection and security. “Besides, the above, I am perturbed to know that a young boy aged 12 years namely Suneel Masih went out on 19-08-2012 in Faisalabad Province of Punjab to buy food but he did not return on the same day but on next day 20th August his mutilated body was found who was brutally killed on Narowal Road Faisalabad. There was good number of injuries marks on his body and the postmortem and in accordance with postmortem report there were 23 injuries marks inflicted on the death body, but not only the torture marks were there but an attempt was made and later burnt his body so as to make it unidentifiable as stated in postmortem report. So far the murderers have not been arrested” said MPA Saleem
