Karachi: August 2, 2012. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC said that Sindh government is not conduction fair and transparent enquiry in case of poisoning of Christian nurses of Civil Hospital Karachi and Christian doubt that as in Christian nurse Magdalene of JPMC rape case influential doctor was set free due to flawed police enquiry and pressure on rape victim CHK Christian nurses poisoning case will meet same fate.
A Christian nurse Magdalene was raped by an influential Muslim doctor of Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre JPMC on July 12, 2010, in Karachi and case was registered but later courts acquitted as police enquiry was not conducted accordingly. The Christian rape victim was pressured by Sindh government officials and police on that she was forced to go in hiding to safe her and her family life.
“In poisoning of Christian nurses of Civil Hospital Karachi case, administration is pressuring Christian staff to record statements against poison victims that they witnessed nurses making tea at night and none other was seen except them in hostel awake that time. The hospital superintendent is forcing some nursing hostel staff to accuse nurses drinking wine or alcohol that night which made them unconscious” said Nazir Bhatti
According to reports, 8 Christian nurses were found vomiting after drinking tea in CHK nursing hostel and rushed to emergency ward while three nurses were taken as serious and treated in ICU.
PCP sources were confirmed that Christian nurses were attacked by Muslim nurses; a day earlier of poisoning incident on their eating’s during Ramadan month, a month of Muslim fasting. The Muslim nurses and male Muslim staff have torn of cloth of one Christian nurse and tortured her but CHK administration not took notice of it.
There are widespread rumors among Christian circles of Karachi that CHK administration is not keeping record of treatment of these poisoning victims that true facts may not surface.
“PCC demands fair and transparent enquiry of poisoning of Christian nurses of CHK that culprits may be brought be before law” demanded PCC chief
Nazir Bhatti said that Karachi Police is not conducting enquiry fairly and only taking dictations from Civil Hospital Adminstration.
