Rawalpindi: August 1, 2012. (PCP) The Voice team came to know about an unpleasant Blasphemy Incidence in Rawalpindi through some source on 29th July 2012 and the Voice team comprised of Adv. Aneeqa M. Akhtar, Mr. Shahid Anthony and Mr. Khurram went to investigate the incidence. Visit to the Police Station: The Voice team went to the police station first of all, where The FIR was lodged, we first went to see the Moharar (writer of the FIR) named Nazar who when came to know the purpose of our visit was not even ready to talk to us, than we went to the SHO (Station house officer) named as Malik Rafaqat Husain and told him the purpose of our visit, he tolerantly listened us and then told us the facts in his views. He said that Zafar is a character less person and he brought the Sim card and the phone we have recovered from him. The charges are that he have sent blasphemous SMS against Prophet Muhammad and his wife to a Maulvi (Islamic Cleric) and upon his Complaint we have filed an FIR on 11th of July and arrested Zafar on 22nd July. He also suggested us that Zafar is proved guilty and therefore we should not interfere with the matter because it is the matter of religion moreover also threatened us that we will also suffer some irreparable loss if we try to get him out of the Jail. The Voice team asked him about the address of the Victim named Zafar but he told us the wrong address and misguided us. We tried to find the Victim’s residence and his family but we failed to find him, later when we went back to the police Station again for the copy of FIR the police straight away refused to give us the copy of FIR and humiliated, abused and threatened us of dire consequences, that’s why we left the police station. Now tomorrow we will try to get the FIR from the prosecution branch and will pursue the case. Actual Facts in Accordance with the Fact finding so far: In accordance with the fact finding of the Voice team the FIR was lodged against some unknown person under section 295 C, The FIR number is 526/12, in the police station of Newtown, satellite town Rawalpindi, and later the police arrested Zafar Bhatti one resident of Karachi, for committing the same offence. We find the malafide of the police and of the complainant in filing the FIR, and we also assume that there is some dispute regarding the property that have led Zafar Bhatti to this incidence according to the statement of Mr. Nasir, resident of sector G-6, He is working in the Bishop’s office of Church Of Pakistan diocese Rawalpindi. We will visit Zafar in Adyala Jail Rawalpindi tomorrow as well and will try to reach the roots of the matter. Please pray for the Voice team that faces all the challenges to help the persecuted Brothers and Sisters in Christ who are in need of help. Please pray for the Victims of Blasphemy as well to whom God has chosen to be maltreated in his name. May God give them strength and firm faith.
