India: July 27, 2012. (PCP) Dr. Vijay Kumar Roy is inviting scholars to submit material for an anthology on Stephen Gill, tentatively titled Stephen Gill’s Vision of a New World. Editor is looking for anything worthwhile, including interviews, and critical papers on his works.
Stephen Gill is well-known, primarily for his epical poem the Flame, a collection of poems, Shrine (poems of social concerns), and his novel The Coexistence. A considerable amount of information about these and other works of Stephen Gill are available on research engines and also on his own two sites: www.stephengill.ca and www.stephengillcriticism.info . Researchers can go to Google to find several additional sites.
The Flame, an epical poem, is about terrorism. “Even the Nobel Prize winner Rabindranath Tagore fails to achieve the status of Stephen Gill so far the use of rich and meaningful imagery is concerned.” (Dr. Shukla in the Flame Unmasked, ed. Dr. Sudhir Arora)
Stephen Gill’s novel The Coexistence is set in Canada and India. The novel provides a blueprint to live and let live. Several research papers have been published. “The Coexistence can be ranked among novels such as, Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe, The Way of All Flesh by Samuel Butler, The Jungle by Upton Sinclair, and The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck.” (Dr. Jacob, assistant professor, Vasile Goldis West University of Arad, Romania, in THE COEXISTENCE : From Style to Structure and Meaning)
The last date to receive material is the 30th of September, 2012. The book will be published by a respectable book publisher, and every contributor will receive a complimentary copy of the anthology. Research papers should conform to the MLA Style sheet, and be submitted by email.
