Karachi, Pakistan: July 14, 2012. (PCP) Mohammad Kachhelo Faisal, a Muslim feudal lord of District Mirpurkhas, Sindh Province who owns a very large orchard of mangoes which are exported worldwide in Europe and Gulf. This land owner has many workers belonging to religious minorities including Hindus and Christians and as such they are oppressed workers who have no voice and face discrimination and hatred because they are not Muslims and maltreated by this land owner. In the very recent past, a 6 years old Shera Masih a Christian worker working in his farm was mercilessly murdered by Mr. Kachhelo Faisal the land owner / Wadera of Sindh Province and before the murdered of Shera Masih who was put to death by pistol he was tied with a rope, attached to a vehicle and dragged him and tortured him barbarically. After killing Shera Masih a Christian worker his body was left in a place where after many hours the police came to know and hushed up this heinous crime and took no action in accordance with law. It has come to our knowledge that Mr. Kachhelo Faisal, the land owner is in the habit of such quarrel action against his poor workers who have no voice and are not covered under the labour laws due to the land owners has influential connections with the high ups and authorities of the Province. He gets away with such heinous crimes all the times and the workers are put to death mercilessly and this land owner moved without escort free. Mr. Saleem Khursheed Khokhar, Member Provincial Assembly Sindh, Chairman Standing Committee on Minorities Affairs Sindh Assembly and President All Pakistan Minorities Alliance Sindh stated that it is very said that the law enforcing agencies, the concerned labour department and other authorities keep their eyes shut on such coercion, crimes committed by Mr. Kachhelo the Feudal Lord owning the orchards in the town of Kot Ghulam Muhammad, District Mirpurkhas, Sindh. Mr. Saleem Khursheed Khokhar vehemently condemned this brutal act committed by Mr. Kachhelo the owner of the mango orchards. He also demanded that the authorities concerned should take immediate action against such landlords who have maintained private jails and force their labours to work without wages. Mr. Saleem Khursheed Khokhar stated that due to his voicing such matters, he is extended death threats by these brutal and Islamic extremists who are bent upon eliminating him as well the religious minorities for the reasons best known to them. He expressed concern that it is actually the mind set of few culprits who are bent upon harassing him as he struggling for the rights of religious Minorities in Pakistan. He assured Shera Masih’s family that he would definitely raise this issue on the floor of the Sindh Assembly and in other Human Rights Forum locally and internationally.
