Karachi: July 11, 2012. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC in a statement issued here from Central Secretariat of PCC said that increase in seats for minorities in parliament of Pakistan can only be positive if Pakistan Peoples Party PPP government presents a Bill in parliament with inclusion of direct Election on these reserved seats instead of Selection which negates democracy. Nazir Bhatti said that Christians are 13% of Population of Pakistan and deserve 32 seats in National Assembly of Pakistan. If government not allocates 32 seats for Christians then Pakistan Christian Congress will reject such imposed increase. Nazir Bhatti said that Muslim women’s reserved seats were raised from 10 to 60 till national general elections of 2002, then why not 4 reserved seats for Christians in National Assembly of Pakistan should be raised to 32. Nazir Bhatti said that imposition of Joint Electorate by General Parvez Musharraf in 2002, paved way for Pimps and feudal lord minorities personal to reach in parliament on reserved seats. “The joint Electorate empowered Muslim political groups to hijack minority votes and to add seats in their total through Selection” said Nazir Bhatti Dr. Bhatti said that Joint Electorate has end voice of minorities in parliament and PCC urges President Asif Zardari to award Dual Voting right to minorities that they may vote to elect their representatives and vote for Muslims in their respective constituencies.
