Ottawa, Canada; June 24, 2012. (PCP) Stephen Gill’s two collections of poems, Shrine and The Flame, are now available in Romania in their own language. The poet explores in these poems the enlightened coexistence, a theme also of his novel The Coexistence and other works.
Shrine is the one collection that has been translated in Romanian language. It is titled Altarul. The Flame is another volume of Stephen Gill that has been translated. It is titled Flacara in Romanian. The Flame is an epical poem about the destruction caused by maniac messiahs. Two book-length studies by university professors have appeared just on the Flame, and several research papers have been contributed to anthologies and research journals. Students in India are working on their doctorates on the poetry of Stephen Gill. For front cover designs of both the titles, please visit:

Both the collections of Stephen Gill were translated by the students of Vasile Goldis Western University of Arad, E Satu Mare with the help of a cultural project that started in October 2011 and completed at the end of May 2012.
The project was supervised by Dr. Olimpia Jacob who has a doctorate in the theory of translation. She is an associate professor and a literary translator. Another scholar who supervised the project was Dr. Zotta Alexandru who also holds degrees in the area of translation. A famous essayist and a literary critic, Dr. Zotta is a lecturer of Romanian and also World Literature.
The volumes have been introduced by Dr. Zotta, and have been released by Editura Fundatiei Cultural Poezia , Romania.
