Mississauga, Ontario: May 30, 2012. (PCP) Canadian Christian Association is a charitable organization since 1989 based in Mississauga, having over 2500 members across GTA; it is the only democratic organization of our community, CCA’s programs and main area of work are: Help the Needy Families, Guide and Assist new Immigrants, Help the Deserving Students, Organize Youth programs, Conduct and organize Seniors events and to Create awareness and lobby for the Persecution of Minorities around the World. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada, The Governor General of Canada allocated a quota for The Queen Elizabeth 11 Diamond Jubilee Medal. We were asked to nominate individuals to commemorate their significant contributions and achievements for their fellow countrymen, their community or to Canada. Even though there was a big list of accomplished individuals from which we have to select 25 outstanding individuals. Keeping in mind that the individual, we are nominating have contributed in a variety of areas, belonging to various communities. We wish we had few more medals so that we could have accommodated the individuals who are left on our list. To decorate the recipients of the medals a prestigious Award Ceremony arranged on May 26, 2012 at 12:00 PM at the Holiday Inn located at 2125 North Sheridan Way, Mississauga, Ontario, L5K 1A3. The event was well attended by the recipients and their families. The guests of honors were Honorable Senator Don Meredith, Honorable Brad Butt, MP, Honorable Stella Ambler, MP and Honorable Ted Opitz, MP. The guest of honors presented the medal along with Award certificates to the recipients. Honorable Senator Don Meredith also represented Honorable Jason Kenney Minister of Immigration, citizenship, and Multicultural and read his message to the audience and presented the written greetings on behalf of the Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Minister Jason Kenney to the president of Canadian Christian Association Mr. John Gill.
