Christian MPA demands revisiting school syllabus to end hate against religious communities

Karachi: May 26, 2012. (PCP) The conference, Deweaponisation challenges, prospects and role of stakeholders, organized by the National Organization for Working Communities (NOWC), was attended by leaders of the ANP, PPP, PTI and representatives of the minority community Mr. Saleem Khursheed Khokhar, MPA & President All Pakistan Minorities Alliance Sindh and civil society at Marriot -Hotel on May 25, 2012. Representing minority communities, lawmaker Saleem Khursheed Khokhar said that whenever we confront with calamities like earthquakes, floods, bomb blasts etc. all communities die together, be it Christians, Muslims, Hindus and people of all creeds, but when the people of all creeds and communities died together in such said events why can’t we live together and coexists as a Nation keeping in view the principles laid down by the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in his speech of 11th August 1947 in order to maintain cohesion. He blamed military interventions for the present state of affairs. Mr. Khokhar also called for revisiting school curriculam to remove the material that generate hatred and discrimination against different religious or ethnic entities. He said an effective ban on toy weapons would also help change the mindset of our young generation. Mr. Khokhar stressed that in the past when Mayor of Karachi was a Non-Muslim and others the streets and roads of Karachi were washed with water daily, but now the same streets and roads are flooded with the human blood of innocent people of Karachi.
