Sheikhupura: May 19, 2012. (PCP) Another Blasphemy case has been registered against a Christian man named Sajad Masih son of Inayat Masih aged about 22 years in the area of Farooq Abad, Siddique Colony District Sheikupura in the Police station of Farooq Abad. U/S 295B for defiling Holy Quran The Voice, a Christian NGO, came to know about the case through Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Ahmad Assistant Priest of the Sheikhupura ST. Teresa Catholic Parish. A fact finding team of “The Voice” comprising of Advocate Aneeqa Maria, Mr. Shahid Anthony, Mr. Khurram Akhtar, Mr. Mehboob and Mr. Gohar visited Siddique Colony today. When The Voice team reached at the house of Sajid Masih’s (Victim) paternal Uncle Mr. Manzoor Masih’s house and started the fact finding by asking questions about the incidence. The Voice team met many people including the family members, cousins and the Muslim neighbors as well. Manzoor Masih said that I am sick and blind, I cannot walk, we are three brothers and we all are well set in our daily life. My brothers and their sons are earning and able to lift our own burden which is a problem for the Muslim community here. There are sixty families living independently in Siddique Colony where blasphemy accused Sajad Masih reside. Uncle of Sajad Masih told The Voice team that our sons are young and energetic and Sajid was helping his father in the business of Scrap that’s why the Majority community always seeks a chance to let us down. Manzoor Masih affirmed that my nephew Sajad Masih is innocent and a hard working boy. He never burnt pages of Holy Quran which Muslims are alleging him and I believe in God that he will give him justice. “The matter raised after the fight between Sajad and Mohammad Sehar-Ul-Zaman, when Sajad won the bet upon the play cards that both parties (Sajid’s Friends and Sehar-Ul Zaman;s friends) were playing in the ground. Sajad always used to win the bet and he always got the money that they engage for the bet. This was the actual reason why Sehar-Ul-Zaman became angry, he burnt some pages from the Holy Quran that were present in a waste Bin erected by the social welfare for the safety of the waste Holy papers on the poles” told one eyewitness Mohammad Sehar-Ul-Zaman, after burning pages of Holy Quran started shouting that “see Sajad have burnt the Holy Quran, I always said that Christians do not respect our religion” upon hearing this the Muslims and Sehar-Ul-Zaman’s friends gathered there in no time and they started shouting and tried to catch Sajad but he ran to his house. The Muslims called the police station and police arrested Sajad Masih. Afterwards, the Mob of Muslims including their Clerics went to the police station City Farooqabad and got the FIR registered against Sajad Masih. Mohammad Rizwan, one of the residents of the same colony came with his accomplices and expressed great anger and disappointment from the Christian community that they called us (The Voice Team) for their help. Inayat Masih, father of the Victim is in hiding alongwith his family which is comprised of three more sons and a wife. The Voice team managed in meeting Inayat Masih who said that the Muslims cannot be our friends while they are all jealous of our children and our independence.
