Bhopal, India: May 4, 2012. (PCP) The core-committee meeting of Isai Mahasangh, Madhya Pradesh, has appointed Father Anand Muttungal as the Chief spokesperson of the organization. He will take over this new responsibility on 1st June 2012.
The State President of Isai Mahasangh, Sujeet Williams said “Father Anand Muttungal was the spokesperson of the Catholic Church for very long time and will be ending his term by June. He founded the Isai Mahasangh and guided us as Coordinator. Taking into concern his long experience we decided to take his help to continue to provide a leadership to the Christian community in Madhya Pradesh. Therefore we requested him to be the Chief Spokesperson. He has accepted our request”
Isai Mahasangh, Madhya Pradesh, expressed their whole hearted gratitude to Archbishop Leo Cornelio, the Chairman of the Catholic Bishops Council of Madhya Pradesh for giving his (Muttungal) service as a full timer to Isai Mahasangh. The state president also said that the ecumenical lay organization was founded by the farsightedness of the Archbishop and Bishops of the Madhya Pradesh Region, they too deserve appreciation.”
Isai Mahasangh is an ecumenical lay organization which has nearly one lakh Christian members across the state from various Christian denominations like Catholic, Protestant and Pentecostal Churches. The organization is set to have nearly thirty thousand new members when the district elections to be completed by the end of June 2012. The organization is working for many years to strengthen Christians towards social empowerment.
The State General Secretary of Isai Mahasangh, Mr. Jerry Paul said, “soon, Isai Mahasangh will appoint spokespersons in every district. They will be given training on various aspects of public relations and media management. It is very much needed to take-up issues related to Christians for its effective redressal.”
Sujeet Williams, Jerry Paul, Roy John Thatta, John Anthony, Richard James, Amrit Minj and many other dignitaries too expressed best wishes for being appointed as the Chief Spokesperson.
