LARKANA: April 23, 2012. (Nazir Siyal) The students of Qauid-e-Awam Engineering University Campus Larkana brutally tortured the Private news channel cameraman Waqar Magsi inside Chandka Medical College Hospital Emergency ward Larkana, snatching him Camera and mobile phone and refrained him from covering the injured students being brought at Hospital from the Campus where two of the groups of students clashed and opened the pistol fires on each others inside the Qauid-e-Awam Engineering University Campus Larkana.
On the occasion, resulted severe injuries to the students of QEUCL Sadam Shaikh, Yousif Attar and Waheed Luk, were rushed to CMC Hospital Larkana for the treatment, while, on the occasion enraged group of students brutally tortured and beaten to cameraman Waqar Magsi and snatched his Camera and Mobile phone because of covering the event.
The Journalist community strongly condemned the incident and termed it anti-media attitude.
Meanwhile, Chamber of Agriculture Larkana expressed grave concern over the de-silting of canals and repair and maintenance of vulnerable protective embankments/Bunds of irrigation and artificial shortage of water in Sindh canals.
In a meeting presided over by the Chamber of Agriculture Sindh President Siraj Rashdi, Sayed Riaz, Khuda Bux Brohi, Hussain Bux Phulpoto, Bader Kehar and others demanded of the Sindh government for failure inordinate delay tactics in the strengthening of the irrigation canals and de-silting on the occasion.
They said there is need to complete the work in time as the task should be achieved and avoid huge losses in the last year flood, added that the several areas are still under the threats of flood water and people suffering their miseries they said.
Rashdi told that the growers of Larkana and Kamber-Shahdadkot have cultivated 460000 acre land wheat in this year, while the few areas are still remaining where the flood water stagnant he told.
He also demanded that the authorities ensure the Bardana/Guny bags supply and procurements at 40 centers in Larkana and Kamber-Shahdadkot to facilitate the growers he said.
