Washington DC: April 20, 2012. (PCP) A Human Right Activist and affiliated with organization Freedom4Sudan in USA, Mr. Andrew Eiva have analyzed protest processions of Pakistani Diaspora in DC and was watching very carefully a protest demonstration of Pakistani Shia community in front of Pakistan Embassy in Washington DC on April 14, 2012; Mr. Andrew Eiva posted these comments on facebook as: Last Saturday 400 Shia-Americans protested in front of Pakistan Embassy in Washington against Pakistani persecution on April 14th. The crowd gathered at the corner of Veazey St. And International Court in Northwest Washington. International Court is a cul-de-sac of six embassies. Buses from Michigan, Boston, and New York brought the demonstrators. At 1:15 the Shiite demonstartors marched from the assembly corner down to the Pakistani embassy. The three most common chants while marching were,”La Beit’ Ya Hussein’” “Stop genocide in Pakistan” “One, two three four, Shia killing no more” 40% of the crowd was carrying signs saying “Stop genocide in Pakistan” meaning the genocide of the Shia. When I asked how many Shia Pakistan killed this year, they answered 300. I also asked one person carrying “Kargil Road Now” what that meant. He said the Lashkar e Taira had set up a blockade on that road and were killing Shias. I was unable to find a single person who was not a Shia immigrant either from Pakistan or India. This crowd was 15 times larger than any Baluch gathering I have seen in the US and could be a precious ally against Punjabi tyranny and genocide of the Baluch, Christians, Hindus, Sindhi, etc.. But in the end, Punjabis should not be written off. As a Catholic, I had the privilege to work for Punjabi leaders when lobbying to arm Bosnia and Kosova against ethnic cleansing and genocide during the nineties. In the campaign for Bosnia, Punjabi leaders organized the largest demonstration ever to be held against genocide in the USA, 20,000 people on the Washington mall in May of 1993. (Later, the Sudan cause mustered a larger one) In the end, defending life, God’s greatest gift, has the potential to unite all of us. Love, I believe, is God's second greatest gift, which he demonstrated through his Son. The systematic organization of hatred which is taking place in the Muslim and Arab world today is not new. It has occurred before; through Communism, Nazism, Serb ultranationalism, and through Arab racism and Islamic intolerance today. The previous three occasions of the systematic organization of hatred occurred in Christian cultures, and we Christians should have the historical knowledge to help our Muslim brothers escape the storm of evil hatred that is swallowing them.
