Nazir Bhatti urges US to condition aid to Pakistan with Religious freedom in DC rally

Washington DC: April 15, 2012. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC has urged US Administration to condition billions of dollar aid to Pakistan with human rights and religious freedom. Dr. Bhatti was addressing a rally in Washington DC in front of US Chamber of Commerce where stands US-Pakistan Business Council office which was organized by REAL, PCC and AFB for human rights for Hindus and Christians in Pakistan on April 14, 2012, to condemn forced conversion of Christian and Hindu women to Islam. Dr. Nazir Bhatti said “There are more than 800 cases of enforced conversion of Christian women to Islam and more than 400 cases of Hindu women every year in Islamic Republic of Pakistan after kidnapping by Muslims violating international code of Human Rights and Religious Freedom which is alarming and invites attention of International Forums” “The Christian and Hindu women are kidnapped on gunpoint then enforcedly converted to Islam and given in Islamic marriage to some influential Muslims who sell them to prostitution dens for 2-3 thousand dollars after keeping them as mistresses for few months” said Nazir Bhatti The participants of rally of April 14, 2012, chanted slogans “Free Rinkle Kumari” “Stop forced conversion to Islam in Pakistan” and “Human rights for Christians and Hindus in Pakistan” Nazir Bhatti said “Rinkle Kumari must be allowed to unite with her parents and ruling of Supreme Court of Pakistan to send him to Shelter after her begging to go with her parents is unfortunate” Rinkle Kumari, a 19 years old Hindu girl abducted and enforcedly converted to Islam from interior Sindh cried before Supreme Court of Pakistan to let her go with her parents but Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Choudhry ordered her to send to woman detention center against her will. Pakistan Christian Congress PCC Chief said that Pakistan is using US aid against human rights and religious freedom instead to curb Islamic extremism and terrorism. Dr. Nazir Bhatti urged US investors to ensure human rights in Pakistan before installing their institutions in Islamic Republic in Pakistan. Rally was also addressed by Mr. Jeffrey Imm of REAL, Laurie Deamer and Ahmar Mustikhan of AFB.
