LARKANA: March 27, 2012. (Nazir Siyal) MNA Madam Faryal Talpur on Tuesday distributed 400 Sewing machines and cheques to provide financial assistance to the poor and needy women, while Rs. 1.5 million were distributed among the poor ladies here at President House Naudero.
Speaking on the occasion, she said that we are working under the visions of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto (SMBB) to empower the women economically. She said that a positive sign regarding the distribution of Rs. one thousand per month is also a financial help under Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) to the deprived poor and widows throughout country.
Faryal Talpur also said that in every field of society, present government was trying its best and giving priority to the women folk, so that they can be able to play their role in society.
She further said without participating of the women in any field of the society that will not be completed adding that it is the reason that we are giving priority to the women and enabling them to actively participate in every field and the society may be reformed in this regard.
On the occasion, Sindh Minister for Law and Prison Muhammad Ayaz Soomro, Deputy Commissioner Larkana Abdul Aleem Lashari, PPP Leaders Khair Muhammad Shaikh, Apa Naseeba Channa and large numbers of workers were also present.
Besides, Faryal Talpur also distributed more than 100 appointment orders in Police Department. On the occasion, SSP Larkana Aitzaz Ahmed Goraya and others were present.
Speaking on the occasion, she directed newly appointed police cops to realize their responsibilities and perform their duties with a dedication and honestly in their respective areas and provide justice and relief to the people at grass root level she said.
She also said that the thousands of sacked employees which were terminated in Nawaz tenure, they were reinstated and large numbers of educated youth were also appointed in different departments on merit basis.
She advised the educated youth that they should come forward and apply for different jobs after advertisement published in the newspapers, so that the appointments may be given on merit basis and also complete all codle formalities in this regard.
Faryal Talpur also said that PPP is the party of poor masses always tried to provide job opportunities to the educated youth without any discrimination, besides the present government was trying to provide basic facilities including netting of roads, drinking water facilities, provision of electricity and Sui Gas in different villages.
She said the government was preparing comprehensive plan to make a next budget for peoples’ budget and huge funds will be earmarked in development sector, the education and health sector will also be given priority.
Meanwhile, USAID Chief of Party Englus Looze on Tuesday highlighted that the Engro Foudnation is working to develop womenfolk by technically sound and capacity development in different sectors, so that they could perform their activities in cattle forms development to earn their livelihoods.
While speaking to the distribution of Kits among 200 womenfolk from the rural areas here at Moen-Jo-Daro, she said they trained 1 lac and 20 thousand families in this regard as they can support financially to their families in remote areas.
Chief party USAID’s Entrepreneurs Project Agnes Luz and Engro Corporation’s Senior VP Tahir Jawiad distributes certificates to the trainee who qualified for certification by the Research & Training institute for Livestock Development Directorate of Animal Husbandry, and Government of Sindh.
On the occasion, 200 women were awarded certificates for completing the training on female livestock Extension Workers (FLEWs) in a ceremony organized by Engro Foundation under USAID’s Entrepreneurs Projects initiative dubbed as Women Empowerment through livestock development WELD.
While giving detail about project Director of Engro Foundation Ramzan Buriro said the project has so far trained 108 entrepreneurs including FLEWs and Female Village Milk Collectors FVMC highly entrepreneurial women who are serving as inspiration to other women in the villages as they demonstrate improvement in their families’ situation through active involvement in business. More than 5800 Mild Producers have already trained from 25 union councils of Larkana, Dadu and Khairpur districts he said.
On the occasion, Marvi, Nusrat, Tahir Javed, Iftekhar, Jeewandas, and others also spoke to the event.
