Shame Week Against Lahore city sanitation contract

Islamabad: March 15, 2012. (PCP) Convener World Minorities J Salik has urged all political parties to join him in condemning award of Lahore city sanitation contract to two Turkish firms. In a letter written to Lahore city heads of political parties J Salik said: “The Punjab government decision of handing over Lahore city sanitation contract to two Turkish firms must have hurt you. You are leading your party in the great city where Pakistan Resolution was passed, where great poet-philosopher Allama Iqbal is buried. You are leading your party from a city where hundreds of thousands of patriots laid down their lives for creation of Pakistan.” J Salik said Zinda Dilan-e-Lahore have valiantly faced every challenge posed to the existence of Pakistan. He regretted that the so-called Khadim-e-Punjab had not trusted nearly 10 million patriots of Lahore in handling an ordinary issue like sanitation and handed over its contract to foreign firms. “ By awarding sanitation contract to Turkish firms, Shahbaz Sharif has insulted Zinda Dilan-e-Lahore and their political leadership. Please join me in observing ‘Shame Week’ in condemnation against the Punjab government decision,” J Salik concluded.
