London: March 8, 2012. (PCP) Christian Social Link CSL organized memorial service on 2nd March, 2012 on the first anniversary of Martyred Shahbaz Bhatti in London. Excellent tributes were paid to Martyred Shahbaz Bhatti - Ex Federal Minister for Minorities, who lost his life for the rights of Minorities in Pakistan. The memorial service was well attended by large numbers of people across UK and it started with prayers and bible readings. Amongst them was Bishop Samuel John - Bishop of Faisalabad, Revd Rana Youab Khan – Assistant to Arch Bishop Canterbury, Reverend Nobel Samuel, Edger Money, Kashan W Bennett,Anna Bella - South Asia Advocacy Officer CSW, Imtiaz Ashraf, Release International, Yaqoob Masih – Qamar Shahms, Reverend Alwin Samuel, Father Yaqoob Khushi, Hammad Bailey, Pastor Jawed Shahbaz, Reverend Wilson Gill, Pastor Samuel Noel, Michael Massey, Jacob Daniel Gill, Mrs. Peter J. David, Shaheen Zaar, Sohail Khokhar, Haroon Barkat & Pervez Khan, apart from them there are people include from different churches, families & human rights organisations. Speakers also appealed the release of Asia Bibi and all others who are in jail in false blasphemy cases. They also urge the Government of Pakistan to punish the people who instigate mob against the Christians in Pakistan particularly designing fake blasphemy cases. CSL has strongly condemned the assassination of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti and demands the Government of Pakistan to punish the perpetrator of martyr Shahbaz Bhatti who lost his life for the rights of minorities. It was felt that Government has failed to catch the killers who assassinated Mr. Bhatti, they are still roaming in Pakistan without any fear. His killing has proved an injustice and double standard from Government of Pakistan that despite holding the position of Federal Minister of Pakistan neither he allotted residence in the Minister Colony nor proper security has been provided to the minister. The participants appreciated CSL for organising this event and raised their concerns of injustice in Pakistan with the minorities particularly the murders of innocent people in blasphemy law. They also assured to CSL that they will stand firm shoulder to shoulder with them whenever they arrange any programme for the community. In the end representatives of CSL Mr. Jawed Iqbal, Mr. John Bosco, Imran Joseph, Taskeen Khan, John Joseph & Thomas Arseen thanked the participants who showed their unity with the community.
