LARKANA: February 29, 2012. (Nazir Siyal) Deputy Commissioner Larkana Abdul Aleem Lashari presided over a meeting in connection with to implement the Orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan to remove the encroachment on Pakistan Railway Lands, while 2nd time notices served to the dwellers in Larkana.
It is pertinent to be mentioned here that after the statements of sitting MNA of the ruling government and JUI Senator as well protest by the dwellers, the Administration, Police and Railway authorities troubled over a decision for demolishing the houses, encroached on railway land and a complete declination over the implementation of the orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan. There is no homework and other formalities by the concerned in Larkana and other parts told the sources.
Deputy Commissioner Larkana in a meeting reviewed and discussed in details, while the Assistant Engineer (AEN) Pakistan Railway Larkana Akhtar Ali informed the meeting that 14 days notices have been served to the unauthorized encroachers on Railway Land in Larkana city.
The AEN Pakistan Railway assured the meeting the plan for removal of encroachments will be provided to the Deputy Commissioner and SSP Larkana by 10th March 2012.
In a meeting SSP Larkana Aitzaz Goraya discussed in detail in this regard and asked Railway authorities in Larkana that the list of Mosques/Masjid and Imambargahs along with both sides of the Railway track may also be provided to him, besides all formalities in this regard may also be completed, so that the orders of Supreme Court may be implemented in letter and sprit.
The meeting also decided that three day joint operation from Railway Crossing New Bus Stand to Ghanti Phatak at Blue Line in Larkana city will be carried out on March 17, 18 and 19, 2012, respectively, in order to implement the Supreme Court orders.
It was also decided that during the operation the magisterial cover may also be ensured. The Deputy Commissioner assured the Railway authorities of his full cooperation in this regard and directed AEN Railway Larkana that the demarcation of encroachment on the both sides of Railway track may be ensured before the operation and it was also decided that the flag march in this regard will be carried out on March 14, 2012.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner I Asadullah Abro, Assistant Commissioner Larkana Ghulam Murtaza Shaikh, AEN Railway, Mukhtiarkar Revenue and other concerned officials of different Departments on the occasion.
Meanwile, the residents of both sides of Larkana Railway line continued their protest and demonstration in front of Larkana Press Club for the proposed operation for demolishing their houses here on Wednesday.
On the occasion, a number of men and women carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the Railway authorities for displacing poor people. They must provide alternate space and accommodation as residing both side of railway track for decades, it is injustice with downtrodden people forced to leave their shelters they said.
They protested against government that they must provide alternate plots and accommodation to residents do not vacate them from their houses, otherwise they will resist on the action.
They have appealed to President of Pakistan, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan to take notice of matter and provide them alternate space they demanded.
