Lahore: January 22, 2012. Mr. Saleem Khursheed Khokhar Advocate, Member Provincial Assembly-Sindh, Chairman Standing Committee on Minorities Affairs-Sindh Assembly & President All Pakistan Minorities Alliance Sindh, has expressed his grave concern and condemned the demolition and Desecration of Gosha-e-Aman (the Christian Institution for poor and disadvantages) by the Government of Punjab. Mr. Khokhar in person visited desecration place of Gosha-e-Aman on 22-01-2012 and in his statement conveyed to the government of Punjab to stop such kind of hostility with the Christian community and stop to grab the church property. It is on record that whenever PML-N government came into power the Christian community always suffered and the examples are as looting, murders and burning of church properties as well as properties belongs to the Christians namely Shanti Nagar, Gojra, Korian, Sangla Hill and Sambrial-Sialkot etc and these incidents are promoting religious intolerance in the country. Additionally, Mr. Saleem Khokhar demanded the government of Punjab and urged the government to vacate the church land immediately and gave the hold of the land in the supervision to the Catholic Church and announce the compensation for the affected Christian families as well as funds for the rebuilding of Gosha-e-Aman. Mr. Khokhar appreciated Rt. Rev. Sebastian Shaw (Roman Catholic Bishop), Rt. Rev. Bishop Alexander John Malik (Church of Pakistan), Mr. Joseph Francis MBE (National Director CLAAS), Mr. Asher Sarfraz (Human Rights Activist), Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Yousaf Mani (In-charge Gosha-e-Aman), Mr. Nadeem Anthony Advocate and several others for their timely intervention and highlighting the issue.
