Rulers are source of corruption and depravation of Pakistani people. Mumtaz Bhutto

LARKANA: January 21, 2012. (Nazir Siyal) Chairman Sindh National Front, Nawab Mumtaz Ali Bhutto has said that the present rulers who have been a source of corruption and depravation for the people for four years are still trying to hide behind the NRO, which has twice been struck down by the Supreme Court. He said Zardari has been hanging on to power and buying political support by spreading corruption, but that strategy will not work anymore, Bhutto raised a question that if the murder, corruption and all other cases against the 8,400 beneficiaries of the NRO are false then why do they not go to court and prove them false instead or trying to run and hide from them? Those who are faced with concocted cases are invariably eager to prove their innocence in court but these lots are going out of their war to avoid having to face the cases in court because, as the whole world knows, these cases against them are genuine. He said it is a matter of record that Zardari has been convicted in the Swiss cases and he is in appeal, added that it is also no secret that the Surrey Palace case has been proven against Zardari. Surrey palace has been auctioned off and the court has given the money to the Pakistan Government. SNF Leader said that Zardari has also had to finally face the matter of his immunity before the Supreme Court which will now settle the issue. The question will also, no doubt, be raised in court whether or not Zardari, who already stood convicted in the Surrey Palace and Swiss cases, was eligible to contest for the presidency in light of Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution. He said this issue has caused a wave of panic among the rulers and the Memogate issue also hangs over their heads like a sword. Both matters are of critical importance and could not only lead to the fall of this government but also lead to action under Article 6 of the Constitution.
