Bhopal, India: January 12, 2012. (PCP) Isai Mahasangh(IMS) made it clear that we will be approaching the Guinness Book authorities not to include Madhya Pradesh Government sponsored Surya Namaskar which promotes communal discord in the multi-religious society. IMS, State General Secretary, Jerry Paul said, “We have different religious followers living together in this state of Madhya Pradesh, Government is trying to divide the young minds by introducing religious activities pertaining to particular religion. The circular issued by the education department has made it compulsory for educational institutions to conduct it and also invite different sections of people for the same. It has violated the 2009 Madhya Pradesh High Court Order by making schools mandatory to organize the ritual of Surya Namaskar.” There are many schools that faced pressure form the education department to conduct Syruya Namaksar orally. He stated that it has also violated the Article 28 of Indian Constitution:- . (1) No religion instruction shall be provided in any educational institution wholly maintained out of State funds. (3) No person attending any educational institution recognised by the State or receiving aid out of State funds shall be required to take part in any religious instruction that may be imparted in such institution or to attend any religious worship that may be conducted in such institution or in any premises attached thereto unless such person or, if such person is a minor, his guardian has given his consent thereto Cultural and Educational Rights. “The constitution of India is very clear on the issue of religious instruction that no general educational institutions owned by the Government or aided by Government will impart any religious instruction. It also requires that the State Government must seek consent of the guardian to impart any religious instruction to minors but the Government has not done that either. So it is a clear violation of the Constitution of India.” Said, John Antony, the State Office Secretary of IMS. IMS also alleged that the State Government is trying to communalize the education through very many ways, blatant violation Constitution is taking place the union Government must look into the matter.
