Civil Society Activists on Hunger Strike for recovery of abducted doctor

LARKANA: January 2, 2012. (Nazir Siyal) Different protest and hunger strikes were observed by the organizations against injustices to protect their objectives here outside the Press Club on Monday.According to details, large number of people of different organizations and unions’ token hunger strikes to fulfill their demands, as the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Larkana chapter continued their hunger strike for the recovery of abducted Doctor. The Young Melody Singers union of Local singers/Fankars also continued token their hunger strike against Sindh Culture Department for providing jobs and other demands here before the Press Club. A large number of candidates of Sindh police, those who qualified written and physical tests last year observed hunger strike and chanted slogans against the PPP government for neglecting and ignoring the merit list. They demanded for their right and opportunity in Sindh police they demanded. Another protest demonstration and hunger strike was observed by the large number of IBA pass teachers in different Union Councils also. They claimed that the PPP government has ignored the merit list and did not provided them jobs in according to the union council selection process in education department. While APCA Sindh held protest and token hunger strike against Population Welfare Department for providing scale to the male mobilizers, promotion, son quota jobs and regularization of MBBS lady doctors. Central leader APCA Peeral Dayo led the protest and token hunger strike for the acceptance of their demands before the Press Club Larkana on Monday. Protesters said that the present PPP government has failed to give the basic rights to the common men, as they promised to provide Roti, Kapra aur Makan slogan, they demanded of fulfill their promises by providing employment and other basic rights to the common men. Meanwhile, the villagers led by Nazir Ahmed Kalhoro the residents of village Fazul Kalhoro, held press conference against the fake allegations of theft of buffalo and killing of a villager. The villagers said that they are innocent as the voters of PPP, but the MNA Shahid Bhutto and the deceased villagers leveled baseless allegations against them. They told that the police have arrested their several villagers and they are innocent in a said incident they said. They demanded of the higher authorities to investigate and justice and punish culprits. Meanwhile, Civil Society Network (CSN) held a peace rally of large number of people here at Janah Bagh to show solidarity on completion of 2011. A large number civil society representative under the banner of AMN ITAHAD, in collaboration with "The Health and Education Society", Ghazi Social Welfare Association and other civil society took awareness rally and gathered at Janah Bagh Chowke Larkana to express commitment and solidarity for promoting peace, justice and democracy. The rally led by Coordinator Tahir Rahujo, which started from CMC bridge after marching through various roads disbursed at Jinah Bagh peacefully .participants of rally were holding the banners and placards and shouting slogans to stop torture, impunity, target killings, kidnappings, good governance in country. On the occasion, speakers including Tahir Rahujo, Maqbool Mashori, Abdul Hamid, Advocate, Khalid Channa, Dr . Zulifqar AliRahujo, Halar, Hamaz Ali Sohu and others said that we need Pakistan without torture and targeted killings and need to protect citizens lives without any form of the force or coercion. They called for eradication of honor killings, tribal disputes, ethnic conflicted and other social evils in society; they said state institutions should take responsibility for welfare of society.
