Karachi: December 26, 2011. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC in a message on 135th birth anniversary of founder of Pakistan said that it is not a Pakistan for which Christians played positive role in Movement of Pakistan for formation of Pakistan. All Indian Christian Association joined Pakistan Movement on assurances of Mohammad Ali Jinnah that in independent Pakistan Christian will be given due equal rights. All Indian Muslim League headed by Mohammad Ali Jinnah launched Pakistan Movement during British Colonial rule in sub-continent India for an independent Pakistan state but he recognized that he can not form Pakistan without support of Christians and requested their support. Nazir Bhatti said "Mohammad Ali Jinnah announced a 14 Points Doctrine to assure Indian Christian that they will be given rights stated in this doctrine in Pakistan" The most convincing point in 14 Point Doctrine of founder of Pakistan was Number 5 which read as "Representation of communal groups shall continue to be by means of separate electorate as at present, provided it shall be open to any community at any time to abandon its separate electorate in favor of a joint electorate"  This 14 Point Doctrine was issued by Mohammad Ali Jinnah in 1929, on which leaders of All Indian Christian Association voted in favor of formation of Pakistan in Round Table Conferences of 1930-32 called by British Colonial rulers in London.h The separate Electorate insured representation of Muslims, Christians and other religious communities in sub-continent of India in 1936 elections which laid down foundations of division of India and formation of Pakistan in 1947. After independence of Pakistan in 1948, in a meeting in Lahore, between S P Singha, President of All India Christian Association and Mohammad Ali Jinnah, a written assurance was sought by Christian leader about allocation of Separate Electorate in Pakistan for Christians which was documented and signed. The Pakistani ,Cristian'sj elected their representation for parliament from 1947 till 1966, which was abolished in 1971 national general elections. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party PPP, endorsed a new system of elections for Christians in constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan of 1973, called as Joint Electorate which meant that Muslim political parties shall select Christian representatives in parliament instead of election by Christian voters. In 1985, Separate Electorate was again restored which enabled Christians to elect their representatives with their votes on seats reserved in National Assembly of Pakistan and four Provincial assemblies which was enjoyed till 1998. In 2000, some Christian tools and so-called Christian leaders on intimation of Pakistan establishment to end voice of Christians in Pakistan in a meeting with military ruler Parvez Musharraf conspired to abolish Separate Electorate and impose Joint Electorate. Nazir Bhatti said "The present selection system for minorities is undemocratic and unconstitutional which takes away their right to elect their parliamentarians " In 1940, when Pakistan Resolution was passed in Annual General Session of All Indian Muslim League, the equal rights, religious freedom and protection of Personal of Christians was duly safeguarded in it but where is religious freedom now in Pakistan? " "The Islamic laws are imposed on Christians and they are victimized and persecuted under blasphemy law, law of evidence and compensation, article 2 of constitution and Hadood Ordinance in Pakistan" said Nazir S Bhatti Dr. Nazir Bhatti said that Muslim leaders must take serious note of the situation and restore equal rights of Pakistani Christians according to vision of founder of Pakistan Mohammad Ali Jinnah on his 135th Birth Anniversary celebrations on this date of December 25, 2011, unless it's to late.
