A Baloch friend of Pakistani Christian becomes US citizen

Washington DC: December 23, 2011. (PCP) Mr. Ahmar Mustikhan, a leading journalist and Baloch human right activist was sworn in as USA citizen on December 22' 2011. Mr. Mustikhan based in Washington DC have been raising voice against persecution of Pakistani Christians on international forums. Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC extended his heartiest congratulations to Mr. Ahmar Mustikhan on becoming citizen of USA and hoped that Mr. Mustikhan will stand more forcefully against victimization of  Baloch and Christian nations in Pakistan now. Meanwhile, according to Baltimore Examiner,  Barack Obama has also congratulated this journalist on his naturalization as a U.S. citizen. President Obama said, "You represent the promise of the American Dream, and because of your determination, this great Nation is now your nation." In a standard letter addressed to all new Americans that was also delivered to this journalist Thursday, Obama asked that democratic principles and liberties of the U.S. must be upheld. "I enourage you to be be involved in your community and to promote the values that guide us as Americans: hard work and honesty, courage and fair play, tolerance and curiosity, loyalty and patriotism," Obama said in his letter. Obama said since the founding of United States, generations of immigrantser  have come to this country full of hope for a brighter future, and they have made sacrifices in order to pass that legacy. "We embrace you as a new citizen of our land, and we welcome you to the American family," Obama said. This journalist had met Obama once three decades when he was a guest at the home of a family friend and uncle of his ex-wife the late Senator Ahmedmian Soomro near the Kidney Hill, Karachi. Obama was reading newspaper, while standing, in the drawing room of the late Soomro. Soomro's son, Mohammedmian Soomro later became the acting prime minister and acting president of Pakistan. On his part, this journalist on oath absolutely and entirely renounced and abjured "all allegiance and fidelty to any foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereignty" and vowed to defend the Constitution and laws of the United States. BLaurie Deamer, member of the American Friends of Balochistan and her father Ray Deamer and three other close friends Bob Seward, Tom Palmer and Sean Smith were present when this journalist took his oath of allegiance at the Fallon Federal Building in Baltimore. "This is the happiest day of my 52 years and two months on earth," the journalist told his American friends. Among others, Pakistan Christian Congress leader Dr. Nazir Bhatti and DC lawyer Kimberly Crichton greeted him. The journalist also vowed to expose human rights abuses in Balochistan and Burma, his birth place, as part of his ongoing journalism works.
