Karachi. December 23, 2011. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC has demanded government of Pakistan to adopt necessary security measure for Christian worshipers during Christmas and New Year services. The Central Executive Council of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC in a statement issued here today from PCC Secretariat said that Christian fear backlash from rising anti-American sentiments after NATO attacks on Pakistani border check post killing 24 soldiers which resulted in widespread public protests and NATO supply route blockade to Afghanistan. Dr. Nazir Bhatti said that attack on one Christian in city of KASUR by Islamists on accusation of blasphemy on day when PTI leader Imran Khan was addressing a rally in this city have created concerns among Christians. The PTI is organizing a rally again on December 25, 2011, in Karachi on Christmas Day which can disturb Christmas celebration and attacks like KASUR on innocent Christian Church goers in this city where more than two million Christians are residing. The killing of Osama Bin Laden in Abbotabad in a raid of US forces on May 2, 2011, have created very critical situation for Christians in Pakistan because Pakistan armed forces always denied on national and international forums that Osama Bin Laden is not in Pakistan. The Pakistani armed forces received billions of dollars in aid from US and Western countries to fight terrorism and Al-Quida led by Osama Bin Laden. The situation turned ugly for Pakistan establishment when Osama Bin Laden was traced in garrison city of Abbotabad and killed and billions dollar aid was diverted by Pakistani security agencies to Islamists, politicians and media to accuse USA operation in Abbotabad as aggression on Pakistan. PCC chief said that situation is very grave and serious about safety and security of Pakistani Christians and government must take note of it. Nazir S Bhatti wished Merry Christimas to Pakistani Christians and prayed for those who are in jails on accusation of blasphemy and other fabricated cases targeting their religious identity in Pakistan and their families are in pain and agony without them on this Christmas celebrations.
