Self immolation of a PML(N) leader as protest against leadership

LARKANA: December 15, 2011. (Nazir Siyal) Funeral prayer of former Vice President PML-N district of Larkana Syed Nisar Ali Shah was performed here in Larkana at his residence as well a taken out and offered Janaza Namaz here at Press Club Larkana on Thursday. It is worth mentioning here that the deceased Senior leader and Former Vice President PML-N Larkana Syed Nisar Ali Shah who had attempted to self immolation in front of Larkana Press club on 10th December-2011 on the eve of public gathering and during arrival of PML-N Qaid Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif. On the occasion, a large number of political, social and religious people attended the last rituals of PML-N local leader, who torched himself by sprinkling oil on his body, which resulted 70 percent of his body was burnt in a self immolation in a protest against the central and provincial leadership of PML-N for allegedly ignoring him by central and provincial PML-N leaders. He was admitted in CMC Hospital Larkana, later shifted to Karachi where he succumbed to burn injuries. He remained associated with PML-N for 25 years, left behind five sons and a daughter along with a widow. On the occasion, some loyalists and PML-N colleagues issued press statements and condemned the present office at provincial level and expressed grief over the sad demise of PML-N worker. On the occasion, PML-N Humair Imdad Unar, Azhar Kamario, Ahmed Bux Korai, Ashique Husain Kalhoro and others were present. Meanwhile Vice Chancellor Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) Larkana Professor Akbar Haider Soomro along with several faculty members of Chandka Medical College Larkana said that construction work of university will be started after the approval of PC-I. The first Senate meeting of SMBBMU will be held on 22nd December-2011 under the chair of Chancellor and Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad. While addressing the press conference, VC SMBBMU told that Rs. 1 billion has been floated to concerned authorities after approval of physical work will be started at university sites, adding that in first phase boundary wall and building construction will be started on 220 acres land, which has already been acquired near Areja village Moen-Jo-Daro road Larkana. Vice Chancellor Akbar Haider Soomro informed that Senate which is a Supreme body of University comprising on 10 members will play its vital role in the decisions of development of various aspects of university departments. He said that University will also provide opportunities of post graduate and diploma programs in 21 departments including MD Forensic Medicine, MD Cardiology, Dip in Cardiology, MD Medicine, DIP in Clinical Pathology DCP, M. Phil (Microbiology), MS Urology, MS Surgery, MS Orthopedic Surgery and other, he apprised that university has so far established intensive care unit ICU at CMC Teaching hospital Larkana, Quality Enhancement Cell, video conference hall and other latest facilities. He said the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has also inaugurated Bibi Asifa Bhutto Zardari Dental College Larkana on 21st June-2011, while first admissions for 2011-12 against 50 seats have been carried out added that Rs. 29 million more funds required for further development of Dental College. He informed that construction work of roads inside the Chandka is in progress, while non commercial Medical Informative FM Radio in SMBBMU will be on air by the February-2012. On the occasion, Registrar SMBBMU Dr. Amanullah Jokhio, Principal Chandka Medical College Assadullah Mahar, Dr. Zafar Pirzadio and others were present.
