LARKANA: December 13, 2011. (Nazir Siyal) A large number men and women of civil society representatives along with Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), social and political nationalists took out protest demonstration and staged sit-in near DIG House Chowke on road; vehicular traffic was suspended for 4 hours boycott. The Doctors also boycotted OPDs and operation theaters (OTs), Basic Health Units (BHU), Rural health centers OPD and other wards of CMC Hospital Larkana for recovery of kidnapped three doctors for a month from Larkana and Jacobabad districts. Hundreds of Doctors, paramedics along with social, political and civil society representatives staged sit-in and shouted slogans for safe recovery of abducted doctors and protection Doctors and Professors. The procession started from Administration Block Chandka Medical College Hospitals and civil and other wards which marching through various different roads reached and gathered at DIG chowk Larkana suspended traffic for 4 hours here on Tuesday. Several local leaders among PML-N Babu Safraz Jatoi, veteran Advocate Kalapna Devi, Mohammed Panjal Khan Sangi, Ali Gohar, Sardar Zafar Ali Sangi and others expressed concern over the increasing law and order situation, lawlessness and kidnapping of Doctors, they also demanded the government and authorities to immediate recovery of three abducted Doctors. They said that the police completely failed to recover kidnapped doctors, so that the doctors are insecure in their hospitals, basic health units and rural health centers. The Doctors have also criticized the elected representatives and Larkana administration that they have not taken any notice of their protests, while they continue their protests for 24 days. It is also worth mentioning here that few days back two surgeons Imtiaz Wagan and Azhar Shah were kidnapped near Jacobabad, while Dr. Abdul Rab Sangi and his driver were kidnapped by armed men on duty Doctor during anti-polio drive near Larkana. On the occasion, President PMA Dr. Afsar Bhutto, President CTF Dr. Ali Akbar Soomro, General Secretary PMA Dr. Badarddin Junejo, Vice president Sindh Dr. Saeed Ahmed, Dr. Zulifqar Rahojo, Dr. Sharif Pirzadio, Dr. Manzoor Phulpoto, Dr. Shahida Shaikh, Dr. Anil Kumar and other doctors and professors. They demanded of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, MNA Faryal Talpur, IG Sindh Police and DIG, DPO Larkana to take notice of matter for recovering kidnapped doctors and provide protection to doctors and other staff.
