Washington DC: December 9, 2011. (By ahmar Mustikhan) Concern was voiced over rape and killing of children in United States, Balochistan, Bahrain, Sudan, Darfur and China at a Human Rights Day conference at the National Press Club in Washington DC Thursday afternoon.
“On Monday of this week a seven-year-old girl, Jorelys Rivera, was found murdered, sexually abused, and left in a trash bin,” said Jeffrey Imm, former FBI and founder of the Responsible for Equality And Liberty, as he raised the picture of photo the tiny girl.
The conference was organized by Imm to commemorate the 63rd Human Rights Day.
“This is the face of human rights in America and the world today,” Imm said as he pinned the girl’s picture on the wall.
“This week in Afghanistan, a teenage girl who had been raped and imprisoned by the Afghan government as a result of being a victim, was finally given an opportunity to be released from prison after two years, if she married her rapist,” Imm deplored.
He said in Sudan and Darfur, children are killed and young girls are raped.
“In Pakistan, we see an endless and horrifying oppression of young children, brainwashing by extremist of young minds, tying bombs onto children for terrorist acts, the abuse, rape, and murder of young Christian girls and other religious minorities, including a young girl Amariah Masih, who was murdered resisting an attempted rape and reported forced religious conversion.
Imm also touched upon Balochistan.
“In Balochistan, we have seen over 168 children who have “disappeared” and teenage boys killed as part of a brutal “kill and dump” campaign by authorities,” he said.
Scores of teenagers have been killed in Balochistan by the Pakistan military, Military Intelligence, Inter-Services Intelligence and Frontier Corps for raising freedom slogans.
Imm said in China, only two months ago, the world saw heartless people continue to walk by as a two year old girl Yue-Yue was run over by a vehicle and left to die in the street.
He said in Bahrain five children were killed and hundreds of children subjected to excessive force by a brutal government that seeks deny democracy and human rights.
Husain Abdulla, director of the Americans for Democracy & Human Rights in Bahrain, deplored that in spite of the brutal crackdown on pro-democracy protesters in Bahrain, the U.S has turned a blind eye on Bahrain and is providing the crumbling sheikhdom $50 million in arms to crush the Arab Spring.
