8 million diabetic patients in Pakistan

LARKANA: November 14, 2011. (By Nazir Siyal) Chandka Medical College Larkana Prof: Asadullah Mahar has said that 285 million people are suffering from the diabetes mellitus in the world, besides 8 million (Eighty Lac) people are diabetic patients in our country (Pakistan) and increased by 15 million around 2030. The seminar organized by the Larkana Administration with the collaboration of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University Larkana at Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Memorial Library, in order to mark the International diabetic day. He added that in the world after every 8 seconds one Sugar patient came in a critical condition for death, the kidneys are being failed due to sugar. In a seminar it was highlighted that there is an urgent need to take precautionary measures with to consultation concerned health practitioners, so that the disease may be controlled in a proper way. On the occasion Chairman Diabetic Committee Prof: Hakim Ali Abro said that in our country every year 80 thousand sugar patients are being expired and this disease is being fatly spread day by day in our country. With the consultation of Doctors the Sugar patient should adopt precautionary measures and to ensure check sugar from their blood on regular basis and the sugar patients may adopt regular exercise and avoid eating sweets, food, Honey and try to use Sugar Free Drugs and suitable food. On the occasion Dr. Basheer Ahmed Shaikh, Dr. Syed Aftab Shah also highlighted on the diabetic disease and precautionary measures. Earlier for the awareness of diabetes patients a walk was taken out from the Main Gate of CMC Hospital to Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Memorial Library, in the walk the Doctors and Pera Medical Staff participated
