Faisalabad; November 12, 2011. (PCP) Human Rights Focus Pakistan (HRFP) shows deep regrets and condemned the killing of three Hindus doctors and real brothers , Dr.Ajeet Kumar, Dr. Naresh Kumar and Dr.Ashok Kumar who have been brutally gunned down in Shikarpura, Sindh. HRFP also shows deep sympathy to the whole Hindu community and minorities upon this shameful incident. HRFP observed, Hindu community living in Sindh are the victims of various sorts of discrimination due to which their rights, dignity and esteem is violated commonly. As the Hindu community only consists 2% of Pakistan’s population, out of this low proportion the Hindus who managed to achieve respectable business, jobs and status in the society are the favorite and very easy targets of extremists and majority of them are being killed, kidnapped and persecuted for ransoms , looting and violence. The assassination of three Hindus doctors is the example of open terror and maltreatment towards the minorities.
Pakistan Hindu Council Chief Mr. Ramesh Kumar shared that the three innocent Hindus doctors were killed in Shikarpur because of a dispute erupted between the Hindu community and the local Baban Khan Bhayo tribe after local Hindu boys were alleged that they brought a Muslim dancing girl to the area. The issue was brought forward to the local assembly of elders and it was decided to resolve this case peacefully with the help of community leaders after ongoing Eid holidays. But before this meeting, the extremist living in this area planned to give punishment to Hindu community. So, on 7th November 2011 two unidentified men riding on a motorbike inhumanly opened fire at a Clinic, killing three famous Hindu Doctors Dr.Ajeet Kumar, Dr. Naresh Kumar and Dr.Ashok Kumar and also wounded a paramedic seriously. The whole Hindu Community got frightened and went in tears after losing the valuable assests of their community.
After Doctors assassination Hindu community observed three-days mourning in Sukkur and adjacent areas against the murder of three Hindu doctors in Shikarpur district. Following the incident, the SHO of the area was suspended while upon the directives of SP Shikarpur Junaid Shaikhs the head constable was arrested. Ten Suspected people were also arrested in different raids on the directives of President Asif Ali Zardari and Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Wassan. However, unfortunately after these urgent inquiries, no F.I.R (First Information Report) has been lodged against anyone.
The minorities especially Hindus have put serious questions to the Government of Pakistan that when the persecutions and violence against minorities will get finished? Whether the Government will take any quick practical action in favor of minorities and against the killers?
In response to these aggressive reservations from the Minorities the High Government officials and political leaders have strongly condemned the murder of three doctors and have given assurance to all minorities especially to Hindu Community of Sindh that Offenders will put behind the bars very soon and strict punishment will be given to them. The Government machinery has become in motion but still the killers are not caught.
Naveed Walter President for Human Rights Focus Pakistan (HRFP) urged the Government of Pakistan to form some practical strategy against the violence series with minorities .He said here is a desperate to ensure the safety of minorities in all aspects of lives. The minorities will make agitation on National and International level against the brutal killing of three Hindu doctor brothers, he added more.
