Lahore: November 12, 2011. (PCP) A Pakistani Christian laborer Ayub Masih who died on workplace was laid to rest in Lahore.
The LWMC paid amount of 25 thousand Pakistani Rupees to family of Ayub Masih for his funeral services after agitation of Civil Society activists in Lahore who blocked GT Road Lahore after news spread that he died on workplace with thrust and hunger when not permitted by his Muslim supervisor to drink water and take meal.
Mr. Ayub Masih, a Catholic Christian aged 45, resident of Christian Colony, Salamatpura, Lahore, have left behind 6 children and grieved Widow Bushra Bibi.
Ayub Masih was a Sanitary Worker of Union Council No.40, Salamatpura, Wahga Town Lahore in the Province of Punjab in Pakistan. He served in SWM about 11 years.
The LWMC have agreed to give a job to his elder son Shezad Masih against the employee son quota and handed over the cheque of amounting to Rs.2.0 lac PKR from the head of family help grant of LSWM which is fundamental right of the servants
.All was done with the great efforts of Mr. Aji Shafique Bhatti Ex-Councilor of UC-40, Dr. shahbaz Bhatti, Mr. Sahhzad Gill ex-councilor of Union Council No.39 and all others who are fighting for their rights. Added here, Mr. Ajji Shafique Bhatti ex-councilor of UC-40 is also head of Christian Councilor Itehad and Town Coordinator APMA of Wagha Town Lahore. Now the 7 members family head is Mst. Bushra Bibi 40 years widow of Ayub Masih Late mother of his 6 Children 4 are sons and 2 are daughters. Ayub Masih was not in position to give them education due to his poverty/deprivation because of that his all 6 children are uneducated and jobless..
