Rawalpindi: November 8, 2011. (PCP) The All Pakistan Christian League APCL in a meeting Presided over by Mr. James Allah Dita, President of APCL Rawalpindi announced that APCL will launch countrywide movement if Asia Bibi is not released before December 25, 2011.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Moazzam Salamat, Coordinator of APCL said that Pakistani Christians condemn the constant silence of The Government of Pakistan and the Government of the Punjab on the serious issue of ASIYA BIBI who is suffering in Sheikhupura jail.
Asia Bibi, a Christian mother of five, resident of Ittan-Wali village in Sheikhupura, Punjab province of Pakistan was sentence to death on charges of blasphemy by District and Session Judge Nankana Sahib.
Asia Bibi appealed Lahore High Court against her sentence which is still in pending and news of her torture in jail by jail officer in September 2011, spread anger among millions of Christians in Pakistan.
Mr. Salamat further said that if the Government has not releaseed Asia Bibi before Christmas we would launch a country wide movement for her release.
