Opposition in NWFP PA reviewing aspects to become party in Hasba case: PML

PESHAWAR, July 15 (APP): Combined opposition in the NWFP Assembly was reviewing all the legal aspects to move the Supreme Court for becoming party in presidential reference against the Hasba bill. Talking to APP here Parliamentary leader of PML Mushtaq Ghani said leaders of the opposition parties will meet here at the residence of Leader of Opposition Shahazada Gustasip Khan Saturday to draw future line of action with reference to Hasba bill. They would also discuss different aspects of the legal application to be submitted in the Supreme Court praying to make the combined opposition as a party in the reference against the bill. The opposition leaders, he said, if invited, were ready to appear before the Supreme Court bench as a witness against the bill. To a question, Mushtaq Ghani said the recommendations on the letter written by fifty members of opposition to the Council of Islamic Ideology under Article 229 of the constitution about the Hasba bill, would be binding on the government. Meanwhile, talking to reporters in the premises of Peshawar High Court, central PML leader Salim Saifullah Khan in reply to a question said, law and order situation in the province has reached to the lowest ebb, corruption was rampant in the society and government jobs were being sold out. He said the MMA leaders had promised to end the VIP culture and to follow austerity measures but all these proved mere election slogans. To a question, he said, the PML would actively participate in the upcoming local government elections and would try to enter into electoral adjustments with other like minded parties. Former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif was trying to damage national interest, he told a questioner.
