Pakistan Christian Congress Condemn massacre of Egyptian Christians

Karachi: October 11, 2011. (PCP) The Central Council Secretariat of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC has strongly condemned Egyptian Security Forces on massacre of Coptic Christian in Cairo on October 9, 2011. Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC said that to kill peaceful Coptic Christians under armed vehicles of Egyptian army is heinous crime against humanity and international community must rise up to condemn barbaric act of Egyptian Security forces. Thousands of Coptic Christians were peacefully protesting in Cairo against burning of Churches by extremists Muslim sect when two armed vehicles of Egyptian Army ran over them murdering on streets where Coptic Christians had joined Muslims for so-called Arab Spring to topple Hussnie Mubarak regime. The live rounds of army soldiers also killed many protestors. Dr. Nazir Bhatti said that Coptic Christians have been expressing feelings of insecurity after incidents of setting their worship places on fire by fundamental Muslims but government instead of adopting adequate security measures for their life and property indiscriminately gunned down innocent protestors. Nazir Bhatti said “So-called Arab Spring have unleashed monster of Islamic extremism which is trying to swallow religious minorities in these Islamic countries and it must be caped in down by forces which supported this Arab Spring unless situation of anarchy and chaos will be at peak” “The killing of Iraqi Christians after democracy in Iraq and now massacre of Egyptian Christians have created grave concerns among religious minorities in Islamic states” added Nazir Bhatti Pakistan Christian Congress PCC demanded security of life and property of Coptic Christians and urged resignation of Defense and Home Ministers of Egyptian government.
