Father Bernard Bhatti OFM, a Pakistani Missionary in Mary Gate of Heaven has expressed concern of killing of Christian youth on way to Mariamabad said “It is really sad and painful to hear about the young man killed like that. May his soul rest in peace. It is true that church has to do something for the people which they are doing it, for the people who go to Mariamabad. There is no big income at all, there are more expenses then income. I am not defending anybody here, but presenting the real facts. I was personally involved in it and i know it that every year archdiocese spends lots of money for this program in Mariamabad. Fr. Bernard said “But however it is also the responsibility of our Christian leaders who are sitting in the national and provincial assemblies to make sure with the collaboration of the local people and government of that area to provide the security to the pilgrims on the way to Mariamabad” “The church only, cannot be blamed for. i know when i was there as a security in-charge, I use to make it sure that Everything is looked after well. You know that also, that in my times, it was first time when the district government took our whole program seriously” added Rev. Bhatti Commenting on security arrangement said Fr. Bernard “I use to make it sure that DPO sits there in Mariamabad for four days, and it use to happed. You can ask from Mr. Mini of Mariamabad how i use to do it. I use to arrange security from Distract Shikhpura till Mariambad, and all the surrounding areas. The police use to be there for four days, day and night. then i use to write letters to president, prim minister, chief minister, Governor of Punjab, IG, DIG, and to all the special security offices of Pakistan, and they all use to do it for us, and still, i know these things by heart. i also use to take 300 security of tall and big youth members from my parish Jamake cheema. Because that time i was there. All the records of above mentioned things are present with the special branch of Nankana Shab District, still the maps made by me, are present there. You can check it with them” It is a problem of management which has to be looked after well. Now father Ashrif Gill is doing his best after me to look after these matters in a best way. I have some questions for you also pointed Fr. Bernard Bhatti “Kindly look for the interfaith organizations, where are they? Where are our political Christian Leaders? Where is local district police and security?”
