Protest against kidnap of Pakistani Christian

Lahore: August 28, 2011. (PCP) Hundreds of Christians gathered in front of Lahore Press Club to stage protest to press upon Punjab government to recover Haroon Masih who was kidnapped on gunpoint by his Muslim employer from his house before his family. Haroon Masih was employed in a factory owned by a Muslim where he was working to feed his family. There was theft in factory where thieves have stolen some machinery parts but Muslim factory owner instead of reporting theft to area police blamed Haroon Masih. There are all Muslim laborers who are technicians and work on machines while Haroon Masih had not knowledge to operate it but Muslim owner not accused them of such theft. Muslim factory owner threatened Haroon Masih that he has rich relatives and he will pay him Three Hundred Thousand Pakistani Rupees that he may buy new Machine Part. Haroon Masih is resident of constituency from where son of Pakistan Muslim League (N). Wife and mother of Haroon Masih approached him but he not took any notice and said that “Pay factory owner money first and when thieves shall be arrest, he will ask factory owner to pay back your money” The family members of Haroon Masih requested area police but Misri Shah Police Station refused to register case against Muslim Factory owner. Today in front of Press Club a protest was launched lead by Akram Gill area leader and Abid Gill ex-member district assembly Lahore while dozens of human rights activists also participated. The victim Haroon's mother and wife and relatives were crying and protesting who lay down on the road with the demand to recover Haroon Masih and arrest of kidnappers and disciplinary against police officers. The protestors also demanded CM Punjab for immediate action on the incident and recover the young christian Haroon Masih without delay. Khalid Gill, Chief Organizer APMA showed solidarity with the victims and protestors. He threatened that protest can be spread over in whole of the country, if Haroon will not be recovered soon and arrest the culprits.
