Karachi: July 31, 2011. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC said that newly formed National Harmony Ministry is to keep control on valuable Evacuee Properties of religious minorities which have been already partially swallowed by Defense Housing Authorities of Lahore and other cities from which officials of armed forces of Pakistan are making millions on sales in private sector. The National Harmony Ministry according to Cabinet Division notification of July 30, 2011, will have divisions of National Minority Commission and representation to UN Human Right Commission on Persecution of Religious Minorities. PCC Chief Nazir S Bhatti clarified that government of Pakistan had never constituted National Minority Commission in true spirit of Liaquat-Nehro Pact of 1950, which was signed between Pakistan and India to protect religious minorities’ rights in respective states. According to Liaquat-Nehro Pact, it was agreed that National Minority Commission shall be headed by acting or retired justice of Supreme Court and presentations shall be called to protect Personal law according to faith of minorities and protection of their equal democratic rights. Whereas, India constituted National Minority Commission in true spirit of Liaquat-Nehro Pact headed by Justice of Supreme Court which resulted in formation of Indian Muslim Personal Law Board and relevant other institution that Muslims have full religious freedom and protection their personal laws. Whereas, Pakistan constituted National Minority Commissions in every regime which were headed by Prime Minister of Pakistan or President of Pakistan and such National Minority Commissions never invited presentations of Christian, Hindu or other religious communities for recommendations by Commission for protection of Personal Law, Election System and equal democratic rights in Pakistan. Nazir Bhatti said that it’s shameful for Pakistan that Muslim judges are issuing decrees on Christian marriages and divorces while Hindus are crying for registration procedures of their marriages after 62 years of formation of Pakistan. Nazir Bhatti said “Federal Minority Ministry of Pakistan was Identity of Minorities in Pakistan which was only listed under devolution in 18th Amendment in Constitution to deny religious minorities presence in Islamic Republic of Pakistan and formation of National Harmony Ministry is no match in cause, issue and objectives to Minority Ministry” “The government of Pakistan have formed National Harmony Ministry and other two ministries for its ally Pakistan Muslim League (Q) leaders to enjoy resources of state not to ensure rights of religious minorities” added Nazir Bhatti Dr. Bhatti said that government of Pakistan is not sincere to stop persecution of religious minorities in Pakistan but conspires to end voice of persecuted Christian, Hindus, Ahmadi, Sikhs and other religious minorities on International Forums through newly formed National Harmony Ministry. Nazir Bhatti said that 20 million Pakistani Christians reject formation of National Harmony Ministry and demand it to name Federal Minority Affairs Ministry. “The federal Minority Ministry is linked to sacrifice of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti, who was assassinated on services in this Ministry which gave him International voice and recognition which was never appreciated by Pakistan Establishment and fundamental Islamic elements in Pakistan, therefore, we will never withdraw from demand of revival of Federal Minority Ministry in Pakistan and those who are hailing government on National Harmony Ministry are not friends of millions of oppressed Pakistani Christians nor recognizing sacrifice of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti” said Dr. Nazir S Bhatti
