IG Police inspects records of Gora Police Station

Mandi Bahauddin: July 30, 2011. (Sher Gondal) Inspector General of Police Javed Iqbal paid a surprise visit to Police Station Gojra and carried out inspection of police records maintained at the police station. He met police men and appreciated in charge police station for keeping records updated. Police personnel earlier were stunned to find the IG among them alone. Talking with police staff he said now the time had come when distances between police and public should end. Police must earn respect among the society by protecting life and property of the people, he added. Oppressed and grieved must be treated with courtesy and due respect and their self-respect should not be injured when they come to police stations for seeking relief. He, then moved to Mandi Bahauddin where he was briefed by DPO Dar Ali Khatak over law and order situation in the district. He expressed satisfaction over performance of police in controling crime. However he said there was always room for improvement and one should never feel complecent in this respect. He also stressed the need for submitting complete challans in time for enabling courts to administer speedy and transparent justice. He commended dedication of police staff especially the DPO for working hard and taking pain in supervising police anti-crime activities. Meanwhile, Phalia police has recovered liquire from a car with MPA plate. Reportedly SHO Phalia Aamir Shehzad has installed a barrier on Phalia Kuthiala - Sheikhan road to check the vehicles. In the meantime the vehicle Number ICT 117 with MPA plate reached the barrier. The police checked the vehicle and on search recovered one bottle of liquor from it. The police impounded the vehicle and registered a case against the vehicle driver Adnan Nazir
