Asiya Nasir surfaced in limelight of Pakistani Christian politics when she delivered a speech in National Assembly of Pakistan on assassination of Federal Minority Minister Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti on March 4, 2011. She raised question in house like a true Christian who is facing oppression and persecution in Muslim dominated society of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Her speech touched hearts of Christians and Muslims of Pakistan when she pointed towards portrait of Founder of Pakistan Mohammad Ali Jinnah in parliament and said “Where is your Pakistan?”
Asiya Nasir born in Quetta city of Balochistan province of Pakistan in 1971 was selected as Member of National Assembly on reserved Christian seats by Islamic Alliance called Muthida Majas-e-Amal MMA in 2002. She was recommended on Christian reserved seats by one Islamic Party called Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam (JUI Fazal Ul Rehman group) being a component of MMA. The Islamic Alliance disintegrated on issues of implementation of Islamic laws before national general elections of 2008, but JUI (F) entered in elections but failed to secure share in distribution of selection right on reserved minority seats and selected Asiya Nasir on general women seats in National Assembly. It is second term as Member National Assembly of Asiya Nasir but with distinction that she was selected on reserved seats for minorities in 2002, by MMA, while in her second term she was selected on women seats allocated for Balochistan in National assembly but her party remained Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam JUI (F).
The selection on reserved minority seats and distribution among Muslim political groups in parliament was introduced in 2002 by General Parvez Musharraf who abolished Election of Minority Candidates on reserve seats by Minority voters which was being practiced since 1985.
During elections of minority parliamentarians, Christian, Hindu, Sikh, Ahmadi community candidates were reaching out to minority voters and presenting their community uplift program which was making them bound to listen and answer voters.
But President Parvez Musharraf snatched right of election of their representatives and empowered Muslim political leaders to nominate them, which made Christian parliamentarians to answer their Muslim party leaders not to Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Ahmadi or other religious minority voters.
The election of minority parliamentarians by minority voters remained an alarming bell for Pakistan Establishment because under Election on Reserved Minority seats, voters rejected feudal class Hindus and agencies supported Christian tools in national general elections from 1985 to 1998.
The highlight of Elected Christian, Hindu, Sikh and Ahmadi parliamentarians was voice on issues of minorities on floor and to offer Christian prayers in house before their speeches on motions and point of orders which was disliked by establishment of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The Christian tools of ISI, MI, IB and Islamic parties on intimation of their masters raised voice against Election on reserved seats and Feudal Hindu class joined them to provide opportunity to military ruler Parvez Musharraf to scratch Election and to impose Selection of Minority candidates.
So, everyone in Pakistan and West knows that Asiya Nasir is also voiceless and powerless like other selected members of National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies.
We understand her feelings when she says to Mohammad Ali Jinnah that “where is you Pakistan?” but she fails to question her leader Moulana Fazal-Ur-Rehaman Chief of JUI (F) “Why are you taking out marches of thousands against repeal of blasphemy law when it targets innocent Christian in Pakistan?”
